Crew is the Youth Ministry at The Rock of KC for those in 7th - 12th grade. Our weekly ministry meets on Thursdays, with our doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the service ending at 8:30 p.m.. Each week we meet to worship God, play games, hear a word from our Youth Pastor Isaac Zenil and meet in small groups. We want to help foster a strong connection for each student that attends Crew and encourage them to connect with other students and leaders the first time they come.

Our focus is to equip the youth of this generation with The Word of God and the confidence to go into the world to be the salt and light and profess the glory of God. We believe that our students have the ability to make a large impact in all their schools around the KC area and beyond. We want to equip them with all the tools they need and a firm foundation in Christ as they graduate and enter into the next phase of their lives.

 FAQs

  • Houses are our version of small groups. Each student is randomly sorted into their house on their first visit to Crew or at the Sorting Ceremony at the beginning of the school year. We randomly sort the students to help foster real relationships between other students and leaders. In turn developing our student’s connection to the body of Christ.

The houses meet each week to discuss the message as well as bibles studies and build community. The students have the opportunity to raise points for their house through out the semester to try and win the house championship prize.

  • We believe the parents are the first ministers to their students. We want to assist parents to raise more kingdom builders.

We offer Open Houses for parents to attend in the spring and the fall. This is an event for parents/guardians to attend Crew with their student and experience a service. They will also be able to meet their student’s House Leader and exchange information.

  • We currently offer two services a year for parent/guardians to attend a Crew service. These are our Open House events that happen at the beginning of the year and the beginning of the school year. These events allow parents to see a full Crew service with their student: worship, the message, houses, and games.

We offer these options as a way to keep the students entrusted to our care safe. All our adult leaders are required to get background checks before they can serve with the youth. As we can not check every parent each week we offer our Open House events to fill the need of a parent wanting to know what Crew is all about.
